Gifts Of The Spirit

Those who God use on a continual basis in this gift hold a strong purpose of this gift throughout their whole life in God. Let us now take a look into this gift as a manifestation gift. In Joel 2:28, it states that God would pour out (His) spirit "upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy...". That prophecy started in Acts 2:17 as The Holy Ghost fell in manifestation upon the multitude of people gathered together, and it continues to this day in the church. "Prophecy" as a manifestation gift is shown as different kinds of tongues are interpreted. (See the pages following on "divers kinds of tongues" and "interpretation of tongues".) This gift is greater in order for the explanation of the unknown language spoken in a supernatural way to be interpreted in part in terms that are clearly understood. Therefore, the purpose of prophecy brings interpretive understanding that confirms others with strengthening power including the one obedient to God in bringing it out, as well as encourage hearts with conviction by the clear Divine Message that was brought forth. It brings an earnest plea to the heart to turn to God in the consolation that was given through it. This manifestation gift is not brought out by a message that was previously planned or prepared to be spoken out; but instead, it is a spontaneous action that is Holy Spirit-led which is spoken out of obedience to God's Purpose to the benefit of the church. 1 Corinthians 12:10
