Fruit Of The Spirit Peace

Galatians 5:22 eirene (shalom)- peace There is a feeling inside every one of us that motivates us to want a state of assurance. This desire is a great need to be free from worry, fear, disturbance with harmful thoughts of any sort, and any activities of life that bring oppression in both the mind and actions of life itself. Peace is the freedom from these disturbances. Peace is not just desiring harmony with others in order to avoid conflict. It is a greater contentment that fills us with the assurance that we are united with The Only One Who can give us freedom to walk in peace. This is not a worldly peace, but a peace that is within despite even our surroundings and circumstances. God alone gives this peace through The Holy Spirit. Jesus said in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” The only real peace that we truly can have is the reassurance that our hearts are right with God. We need a relationship with Him that will bring about unity in obedience to His commandments and the proper harmony with others. Also refer to John 16:33 and Philippians 4:6-9
