Galatians 5:23egkrateia (shlitahatzmit)- temperance (self-control)When we exercise with great force our control to submit to The Holy Spirit’s influence, we then surrender our desires and passions of the human nature to the knowledge of His Authority. This shows in “manifested Power” the godliness that is to be put into practice in our lives. The Greek word “egkrateia”, which is temperance, comes from another Greek word “kratos” meaning “strength”. This strength is our God-given ability to restrain ourselves from immorality.See also 2 Peter 1:3-6
